Legora has raised $550 million in Series E funding at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation, adding capital to expand its legal AI platform and international footprint, including its presence in Toronto.
Atreides Management led the round, with participation from new investors including Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners, and J.P. Morgan. Major existing investors, including Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, and Salesforce Ventures, also participated.
The financing increases Legora’s valuation from $5.6 billion at its previous round and follows rapid revenue growth. According to the company, annual recurring revenue now exceeds $200 million, having climbed from $1 million to $100 million in less than 18 months before adding the next $100 million in under six months.
“The opportunity in legal is enormous and we are still early,” said Max Junestrand, CEO and co-founder of Legora. “AI is changing the role of the lawyer, with more time for judgment and advice, and it is reshaping how law firms and in-house legal teams are organized and how their work gets done.”
Legora says the funding will support expansion across North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia-Pacific. Its North American offices include Toronto, New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco.
The capital will also fund further development of Legora aOS, which the company describes as an agentic operating system where lawyers work alongside AI agents. Areas of investment include legal intake, horizon scanning, and legal research.
That strategy builds on several recent product announcements covered by LegalTech.ca. Earlier this month, Legora introduced an integration ecosystem spanning more than 30 platforms, connecting its AI agent with document management, contracting, eDiscovery, and other enterprise systems.
The company also recently partnered with Toronto-based Blue J to bring AI-powered tax research into its workspace. That integration will let eligible joint customers access tax answers with citations, with general availability planned for November.
Corporate legal departments are becoming a larger part of Legora’s business. The company says in-house teams represented more than 40% of new customers in the third quarter, compared with only a small fraction of its customer base a year earlier.
The United States is now Legora’s largest market by revenue, with more than half of the AmLaw 50 counted as customers.
Founded in 2023, Legora launched its platform in October 2024. It now reports more than 1,000 employees across 18 offices, with over 140,000 legal professionals using its technology at more than 2,400 law firms and in-house legal teams across over 80 markets.
