Toronto-based Blue J is bringing its AI-powered tax research into Legora through a partnership designed to help lawyers address tax questions without leaving their legal workspace.
The integration will allow eligible customers to query Blue J within Legora and receive answers with inline citations linking to underlying sources. The companies say shared customers requested the connection to keep tax research alongside their other legal work.
Blue J CEO and co-founder Benjamin Alarie said the integration will help professionals access cited analysis within existing workflows while preserving their ability to verify sources and exercise judgment.
“Blue J adds specialist depth through additional secondary sources lawyers can check, right in the work they’re already doing,” said Bryan Tsao, Chief Product Officer at Legora.
Built using the Model Context Protocol, the integration keeps research processing on Blue J’s infrastructure. Users must subscribe to both products and sign in with their own accounts, with source access subject to applicable content permissions.
Early access will begin with selected eligible joint customers, with general availability planned for November.
The partnership follows Legora’s launch of an integration ecosystem spanning more than 30 platforms, previously covered by LegalTech.ca. That ecosystem connects its AI agent to document management, contracting, eDiscovery and other enterprise tools, extending the company’s push to bring legal work across multiple systems into one platform.
