Harvey has unveiled Intake, a new tool designed to help in-house legal teams manage incoming requests and use AI agents to prepare initial work before lawyers review it.
The announcement follows Legora’s launch of its own product called Intake yesterday. Both offerings position AI as a front door for corporate legal departments, combining request management with agents that can begin working on those requests.
According to Harvey, Intake captures requests from tools employees already use, including email, Slack, Jira and ServiceNow. It gathers supporting context and attachments, then routes work to an approved agent, a lawyer or a product such as Harvey’s Contract Intelligence.
For incoming contracts, that handoff enables setup and first-pass review, with work remaining tracked through negotiation, signature and renewal. Other applications include employment policy questions, vendor agreements and marketing claims.
Legal teams define the rules governing routing, access and escalation. Shared queues help distribute requests, while audit trails record the AI’s work, lawyer review and final response. Business users can check progress and provide additional information without needing a Harvey seat.
Artificial Lawyer reports that Harvey developed Intake with input from legal teams at Carvana, GE Aerospace and Dentsu, with early access planned.
The closely timed launches highlight a growing focus on the work surrounding legal advice: collecting information, assigning responsibility and preparing routine matters for review. For in-house teams, the promise is a shorter path from a business request to an answer, with lawyers setting the boundaries for what agents can handle.
