Legora has launched Intake, a new tool that lets employees request legal help directly in Slack while AI prepares work for in-house lawyers to review.
The product turns everyday requests, including contract reviews, supplier approvals, and policy questions, into tracked tasks within Legora. Its AI agent gathers missing information, routes requests to the appropriate legal team, and prepares initial work using the team’s own instructions, playbooks, and precedents.
The launch targets a persistent challenge for in-house departments: requests that arrive through scattered channels with insufficient context, leaving employees waiting for guidance or proceeding without legal input.
With Intake, employees can seek help by mentioning Legora in Slack. The agent asks follow-up questions in the thread and creates a task with an owner and due date before preparing the work.
“It’s easy to use AI to make an individual lawyer faster. What matters is turning that into ROI for the whole legal team, and that means building a platform that takes care of the work around the work,” said Bryan Tsao, Chief Product Officer at Legora.
Lawyers control how much the agent can do for each request type. By default, a lawyer reviews every piece of work before it returns to the requester. For routine tasks approved in advance, such as a standard non-disclosure agreement, the agent can complete the process and respond directly.
Legora says lawyer accountability remains central to the system, including when teams authorize automated responses.
Intake also records task types, assignees, and turnaround times, giving legal leaders greater visibility into demand across the business and how their teams handle it.
The product is available now in Slack, with configuration support from Legora’s legal engineers. The company plans to expand access to Microsoft Teams, email, and MCP.
Legora says its platform is used by more than 140,000 legal professionals across more than 2,000 law firms and in-house legal teams in over 80 markets.
