Harvey has introduced a litigation drafting workflow co-developed with LexisNexis that helps lawyers prepare motions to dismiss, combining AI agents with legal research and lawyer review.
The launch marks the first jointly developed workflow under the companies’ strategic alliance, announced in June 2025. It draws on U.S. case law, statutes and Shepard’s Citations Service.
Lawyers begin by uploading a complaint. Harvey identifies potential grounds for dismissal and ranks their strength, allowing counsel to approve or revise the strategy before research begins.
Research agents then investigate approved arguments, producing memos that address supporting cases, adverse authority and potential weaknesses. A drafting agent assembles the motion, linking factual assertions to the complaint and legal propositions to case law.
Harvey says the process can produce research and an initial draft in hours, with lawyer review built into the workflow.
The tool is available to Harvey customers with Ask LexisNexis access, as well as Harvey customers who also subscribe to Lexis+ with Protégé.
The announcement focuses on U.S. proceedings and does not announce Canadian support. A jointly developed summary judgment workflow is planned next.
