LexisNexis Launches Lexis+ AI Mobile App

News Brief, March 11, 2026

The image of lawyers working late into the night in quiet law libraries has largely given way to a more mobile profession. Today’s legal professionals move between home offices, courtrooms, client sites, and airports while staying continuously connected to the tools they rely on.

Mobile technology now underpins much of modern legal work. Research, drafting, collaboration, and client communication increasingly happen outside traditional office settings, as lawyers look for faster access to information and more flexible ways to manage their practices.

Smartphones and tablets have become practical workstations. Lawyers can pull up case law and legislation while preparing for hearings, review documents between meetings, and collaborate with colleagues and clients without returning to their desks. Built-in video conferencing and screen-sharing tools have also made remote client meetings routine, reducing travel while keeping matters moving.

Mobile access is particularly critical in high-pressure environments. Courtrooms and negotiation rooms often require real-time coordination, secure messaging, and immediate document sharing, allowing legal teams to stay aligned when timing and confidentiality matter most. At the same time, push alerts and live updates help lawyers monitor legal and regulatory developments throughout the day.

Recent advances in generative artificial intelligence are expanding what mobile tools can do. Legal-specific AI systems are now being adapted for smartphones and tablets, bringing research and drafting support into the flow of daily work.

Against that backdrop, LexisNexis has introduced the Lexis+ AI Mobile App, extending its legal AI platform to iOS and Android devices. The company says the app is designed to let lawyers use AI tools seamlessly while working on the move, without disrupting established workflows.

The app allows lawyers to ask legal questions in natural language and receive answers grounded in authoritative legal sources. It can generate concise case summaries that highlight key facts, issues, and outcomes, and assist with producing structured legal drafts to reduce time spent on first versions.

Users can also revisit recent AI conversations, preserving continuity across matters and devices, while automatic synchronization enables work to shift easily between mobile and desktop environments.

LexisNexis says Lexis+ AI is built as an end-to-end system that combines conversational research, summarization, drafting, and document analysis within a single interface. Responses draw from the company’s extensive collection of case law, legislation, and secondary sources.

Access to the mobile app is included within a standard Lexis+ AI subscription, with no additional add-ons required, as the company positions the product as part of a broader shift toward flexible, AI-enabled legal work.
