LexisNexis debuts Protégé in Canada, expanding its AI legal platform with drafting, research, and workflow tools integrated into Lexis+ AI.
LexisNexis has launched its AI-powered legal assistant, Protégé, in Canada, alongside new enhancements to its Lexis+ AI platform. Already deployed in the U.S., U.K., and Australia, Protégé promises to accelerate drafting, research, and client advisory work for Canadian legal professionals.
Integrated into Lexis+ AI and soon available through Microsoft Word via Lexis® Create+, Protégé is designed to handle complex, multi-step legal tasks. It can draft transactional and litigation documents, suggest workflow actions, and refine its own output before passing it on for human validation.
“Protégé is like having a legal-grade AI co-counsel that empowers lawyers to focus on strategic, high-value work,” said Sam Puchala, President and General Manager of LexisNexis Canada. “We’re proud to bring this fully integrated platform to Canada to help our legal community achieve better outcomes.”
Key features include the ability to create visual timelines from case documents, manage thousands of legal files in secure Vaults, and proactively guide users to achieve results faster. Protégé also integrates with document management systems such as iManage and SharePoint, enabling legal teams to extract clauses and draft from internal precedent libraries.
The Canadian rollout was shaped by feedback from local legal professionals through a customer-driven innovation program. Built with strict privacy, compliance, and security standards, Protégé is part of LexisNexis’ global platform strategy, which continuously incorporates emerging AI technologies to stay at the forefront of legal innovation.
With Protégé now available in Canada, LexisNexis is reinforcing its mission to redefine legal workflows with secure, responsible AI.
