LawDroid Launches LawAnswers AI to Bridge U.S. Justice Gap

News Brief, September 5, 2025

LawDroid debuts LawAnswers AI in the U.S., offering accessible legal information to millions facing civil legal issues without representation.

Vancouver-based legal technology company LawDroid has launched LawAnswers AI, an intelligent legal information platform designed to address the United States’ access to justice crisis. The platform, now available nationwide, uses advanced AI to provide quick, reliable legal information through conversational interfaces.

According to the Legal Services Corporation’s 2022 Justice Gap Study, 92% of civil legal problems faced by low-income Americans receive little or no legal help. LawAnswers AI seeks to bridge that gap by serving as a first step for individuals navigating issues such as debt collection, evictions, foreclosures, and family law disputes.

“The access to justice gap in America represents one of our most pressing civil rights challenges,” said Tom Martin, CEO of LawDroid. “LawAnswers AI represents our first real opportunity to meaningfully tackle this crisis at scale. By harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, we can finally begin to democratize access to legal information.”

The platform features jurisdiction-aware responses, real-time source management with citations, speech recognition and voice synthesis, and a mobile-first design. A privacy protection system also ensures personal information is anonymized in-browser. Unlike many legal tech tools, LawAnswers AI is optimized for use in rural and underserved areas, where residents often face the highest barriers to accessing legal support.

Martin emphasized the distinction between legal information and legal advice: “We provide legal information to help people understand their rights and options, but we strongly encourage users to consult with qualified attorneys for legal advice specific to their situations.” Prominent disclaimers make clear that LawAnswers AI does not establish an attorney-client relationship.

LawAnswers AI builds on LawDroid’s decade-long work supporting legal aid organizations, courts, and state bars with AI knowledge assistants. The company hopes its latest platform will demonstrate AI’s potential as a force for social good, expanding legal awareness to the millions left underserved by the current system.

“This is just the beginning,” Martin added. “Every person deserves access to the law, and LawAnswers AI is our contribution to making that ideal a reality.”
