AltFee launches its integration with Clio’s Asia-Pacific servers, bringing data-driven value pricing to firms across Australia.
Vancouver legaltech company AltFee has announced the launch of its integration with Clio’s Asia-Pacific (APAC) servers, marking a major step in expanding access to value-based pricing for Australian law firms. The integration enables firms in the region to connect AltFee to Clio seamlessly, unlocking a unified workflow for scoping and managing fixed-fee matters.
The timing aligns with a broader shift in legal pricing. According to Clio’s 2025 Legal Trends Report for Mid-Sized Law Firms, 64% of firms now offer flat fees, and 27% are experimenting with subscription models. As client demand for transparency and predictability grows, firms moving away from hourly billing are gaining a competitive advantage.
AltFee’s new Matter Analytics feature further supports this evolution, giving firms real-time insight into the profitability of flat-fee work. Legal teams can now track margins, compare flat fees against recorded effort, and measure value delivery with precision. The analytics also reveal effective hourly rates—both individual and blended—helping firms refine pricing strategies and align fees with client outcomes.
“As Clio deepens its presence across the Asia-Pacific region, we’re seeing Australian firms increasingly demand pricing models that are predictable, transparent, and aligned with client value,” said Denise Farmer, General Manager, APAC at Clio. “AltFee’s integration with our APAC servers makes it far easier for firms to adopt flat-fee pricing and stand apart from incumbent practice management solutions.”
AltFee’s entry into the Australian market mirrors a global trend. Clio’s research shows a 34% increase in flat-fee cases worldwide since 2016, underscoring the profession’s move away from the billable hour toward efficiency and client-centered service.
“We believe this launch is a critical inflection point for the pricing of legal services in Australia,” said Scott Leigh, CEO and Co-founder of AltFee. “Efficiency gains from AI and automation are reshaping legal work. The billable hour can’t keep pace with these changes, which is why a systemized, data-driven pricing solution is critical. Together with Clio, we’re helping firms transition to pricing models that reflect value, not time.”
The AltFee–Clio APAC integration is available immediately for firms using Clio on regional servers and can be activated through the Clio App Directory or directly within the AltFee platform.
