Clio has opened a U.S. headquarters in New York, marking a new chapter in the Vancouver-born legal technology company’s expansion south of the border.
The company said the new office will serve as its U.S. base of operations and a central home for a growing team across marketing, product, engineering, sales, and customer success. The move places Clio closer to the largest concentration of law firms and corporate legal departments in the United States.
“Legal is experiencing its most significant technological shift in a generation, and New York is at the heart of it,” said Jack Newton, CEO and Founder of Clio. “Establishing our U.S. headquarters here reflects our confidence in where this market is heading and our commitment to being a long-term partner to the firms and legal teams driving that momentum.”
The announcement follows a period of rapid growth for Clio. Earlier this month, the company announced it had surpassed US$500 million in annual recurring revenue, profitably. That milestone came after Clio’s US$1 billion acquisition of vLex, described by the company as the largest M&A transaction in legal technology history, and a US$500 million Series G round at a US$5 billion valuation.
Clio’s platform now serves 400,000 legal professionals across more than 130 countries.
The company said its New York headquarters represents the beginning of a significant investment in the city. Clio plans to build a full cross-functional presence in New York, bringing together teams across engineering, product, sales, customer success, and go-to-market.
The Manhattan office is currently under renovation, with full occupancy expected in early 2027. Clio is operating from a temporary New York location in the meantime and is actively hiring across multiple functions and seniority levels.
Clio now employs more than 2,000 people globally and operates offices in Vancouver, Toronto, Calgary, Dublin, Manchester, London, Sydney, Barcelona, and Bogota. New York is Clio’s tenth office and its first dedicated U.S. location.
