Appara Connects Conveyancing Workflows with Clio

News Brief, November 5, 2026

Vancouver’s Appara has introduced an integration with Clio that connects real estate transactions with matter management, billing, and trust accounting, aiming to reduce administrative work for Canadian legal professionals handling flat-fee conveyancing files.

The integration links Appara Real Estate with Clio Manage, allowing practitioners to manage a transaction from intake to closing in Appara while transferring documents, invoices, and trust entries to Clio. It also imports client and matter information from Clio into Appara to pre-populate files.

For firms working within fixed fees and tight closing deadlines, the companies are targeting a familiar source of lost time: entering the same information across multiple systems.

“A real estate file can involve dozens of moving parts, but the information behind it should only need to be entered once,” said Peter Byrne, Head of Business at Appara Real Estate. “Our integration with Clio Manage is about removing the administrative handoffs that slow down a transaction and cut into real estate practitioners’ revenue.”

The integration imports matter numbers, tagged contacts, and mapped custom fields alongside client and matter details. Fees, disbursements, and full invoices can be exported automatically from Appara to Clio’s Activities tab, while documents can be sent directly to the corresponding matter without a separate download and upload.

Trust transactions performed in Appara can also be sent to Clio, helping firms keep their transaction and accounting records aligned.

“Canadian real estate practitioners working on fixed fees and tight closing dates know their trust records have to be right on every file,” said Luke Slan, General Manager, Canada at Clio. “With Appara connected to Clio, practitioners can run the transaction in Appara and send invoices and trust entries straight to the matter in Clio, so the firm keeps one accurate record without typing anything twice.”

Appara provides document automation, workflow automation, and entity management tools across corporate law, real estate, estate planning, and estate administration. The Clio integration connects its conveyancing tools with the practice management system firms use to administer their files.

The integration is available to qualifying Appara and Clio users in eligible Canadian markets. The announcement does not specify which markets or subscription plans qualify.
