As Canada’s legaltech community heads to Boston for ClioCon 2026, LegalTech.ca is spotlighting five Canadian companies helping law firms rethink how they do business.
Rounding out the series is MinuteBox, which brings corporate records, registry services, and compliance tracking into a single platform.
For lawyers managing corporate entities, keeping minute books organized is only part of the job. Director and shareholder information, filing deadlines, registry searches, and corporate changes all need to be tracked and maintained.
MinuteBox aims to bring those responsibilities together, giving firms a centralized place to manage both corporate information and the services needed to keep it current.
“MinuteBox is a centralized source of truth for corporate record data including director, officer and shareholder information, corporate ledgers and registers,” the company tells LegalTech.ca.
That scope extends to minute books, shareholder agreements, transaction record books, data rooms, and board portals, helping firms manage records that otherwise may be spread across separate systems.
Alongside its record management platform, MinuteBox offers registry services in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Lawyers can conduct corporate registry and due diligence searches, including corporate profile reports, certificates of good standing, lien searches, and bankruptcy and litigation searches.
Integrated e-filing supports company formation, annual reports and returns, corporate changes, and lien registrations, renewals, and discharges. MinuteBox also offers Registered Agent services across the United States.
For firms, the goal is to connect the information they maintain with the searches and filings they perform on behalf of clients.
“These integrate into MinuteBox, providing a single application for record management and registry services, but each product can be used on its own as well,” the company says.
At ClioCon, MinuteBox is announcing the U.S. launch of Automated Compliance, following its introduction in Canada.
The company says the offering automatically calculates filing deadlines for most entity types across all U.S. states, territories, and the District of Columbia, covering obligations such as annual reports and franchise taxes.
Its compliance checks also extend beyond filing dates to requirements involving employer identification numbers, registered agents, director and manager counts, and shareholder record-keeping.
For attendees connecting with the MinuteBox team, the launch offers a look at how corporate record management is expanding to include more of the ongoing work required to maintain an entity.
MinuteBox closes out our Canadians at ClioCon series with a focus on a recurring responsibility for corporate law practices: keeping client entities organized, current, and compliant as requirements evolve.
