Legal AI company Spellbook has launched Comprehensive Reviews, a new feature designed to help legal teams assess contracts more thoroughly in a single step.
The feature combines three previously separate review processes. With one click, users can run a contract against an established playbook, scan it for potential risks and proofread the document for errors.
The proofreading function checks for issues such as broken section references, missing definitions, placeholder text, internal comments and inconsistent formatting before a contract is sent for signature.
Legal teams can also attach their own templates or previously completed agreements to guide the review. Spellbook then assesses the new contract against those reference materials and the organization’s standards.
To make the results easier to navigate, Comprehensive Reviews prioritizes failed playbook rules and high-risk concerns. It also removes duplicate findings and keeps playbook results separate from broader suggestions, reducing the likelihood of conflicting recommendations.
The new capability is intended to give lawyers a consolidated view of contractual risks and drafting mistakes without running and reconciling several different reviews. Spellbook says its AI contract tools are now used by more than 5,000 legal teams.
