Vancouver-founded legaltech company Clio is bringing its legal AI platform directly into the system where large firms manage complex matters.
Vincent is now embedded within Clio Operate, combining legal research, analysis and drafting with the facts, documents, workflows and institutional knowledge associated with a live matter. The integration is designed for large law firms and enterprise legal departments that want AI to work from within their existing operational environment.
The launch tackles a persistent limitation of standalone legal AI tools: lawyers often have to upload documents, recreate background information or move between separate systems before the technology can provide useful assistance.
Inside Clio Operate, Vincent can access the structured history of a matter as it develops, including its facts, documents, decisions, communications, workflows and governing standards. It can combine that information with Clio’s legal library and court records to produce work grounded in both relevant law and the specific context of the file.
Vincent can review incoming documents, identify important terms and issues, research applicable law, support drafting and flag information that could affect strategy or next steps. The AI can also participate in configured workflows, routing findings to the appropriate lawyer and updating matter records once the lawyer confirms the action.
The platform can draw context from securely connected third-party document systems and return results to designated fields, chronologies and internal knowledge pages within Clio Operate.

Foreman said combining Vincent with the full context of a matter and a firm’s institutional knowledge creates a more capable form of legal AI—one designed to support stronger decisions and move complex work forward.
The integration also allows firms to preserve their preferred methods, standards and expertise across matters. Instead of reconstructing instructions each time, organizations can capture successful approaches and make them available to other lawyers while keeping professional judgment with the user.
Clio says Vincent operates within the permissions, ethical walls and audit trails already established in Clio Operate. Access can be limited to an individual matter, team or client, every interaction is visible, and sensitive information is not retained at the model layer.
Research outputs include citations to primary authorities and a Cert Citator check indicating whether cited law remains valid, giving lawyers a path back to the underlying source before using the work in advice, negotiations, filings or court.
The integration brings together two major components of Clio’s enterprise strategy. Clio Operate evolved from ShareDo, the matter-management company Clio acquired in 2025, while Vincent joined the company through its US$1-billion acquisition of legal intelligence provider vLex.
Clio launched Operate in North America earlier this year and recently partnered with professional services firm Harbor to help large firms implement Clio Operate and Vincent across their organizations.
Embedding Vincent directly within Operate advances that enterprise push by connecting the operational record of legal work with the AI performing research, analysis and drafting.
Vincent in Clio Operate is scheduled to become generally available in November 2026.
