LawVo lets users ask everyday legal questions and get plain-language answers through an AI tool trained on Canadian law.
The company was founded in Toronto in 2021 by Hovsep Seraydarian alongside lawyers Fernand Vartanian and Lena Vartanian.
LawVo utilizes AI technology to make routine legal matters more affordable and easier to handle for individuals, small businesses, and associations across Canada.
This includes hosting its data in Canada, which the company says helps address privacy and data-residency concerns for users.
The firm’s flagship product is LawVo AI, a 24/7 assistant that promises immediate legal information without jargon.
LawVo also offers a Legal Document Center service with the ability to create, customize, and manage documents.
“We founded LawVo to bring more choice, affordability, and transparency to individuals looking for legal services,” says Vartanian commented in 2023. “We believe access to justice should be simple and affordable”.
In 2025, LawVo was selected as a finalist for the LegalTech LaunchPad pitch competition in London at one of Europe’s larger legal technology events.
The company also participated in the ventureLAB accelerator program in Ontario.
For Seraydarian, LawVo is more than just some “science project.”
He suggests some startups are more experimental while others are “solving real-world problems.”
“Are you solving a real-world problem? That’s it. It ends there for me,” he remarked during panel discussion at DigitalOcean’s Deploy 2026 conference in San Francisco earlier this year.
