Clio Partners With Perplexity to Bring Vincent Into Legal AI Workflows

News Brief, June 24, 2026

Clio is partnering with Perplexity to bring Vincent by Clio into Computer for Counsel, Perplexity’s AI work platform for legal professionals.

Announced today, the partnership will make Vincent’s legal research, citator analysis, and authority-backed legal reasoning available through Computer for Counsel via a new Model Context Protocol connector. The integration is expected to launch in the coming months and is aimed at large law firms using AI to support legal research and work product.

Through the connector, shared customers will be able to access Vincent’s research capabilities directly within Perplexity’s legal AI workspace. Clio says outputs will be grounded in its legal corpus of more than one billion documents, including case law, statutes, regulations, court rules, and secondary sources across more than 100 jurisdictions.

Every result will link back to verifiable legal authorities, giving lawyers the ability to validate findings before incorporating them into legal work.

“We’re moving from a world where people learn tech to a world where tech learns what people are trying to accomplish,” said John Foreman, Chief Product Officer at Clio.

Foreman said the value of AI systems in legal depends on the quality of the intelligence underneath them, adding that Vincent was built to provide answers grounded in legal authority, including Clio Library and a firm’s own documents.

For Clio, the partnership expands where Vincent can be accessed as legal teams increasingly connect general AI work platforms with specialized systems that provide domain expertise, authoritative data, and professional-grade validation.

The announcement also reflects the continued evolution of the legal AI stack, with legal-specific intelligence layers being embedded into the tools where lawyers are already working.

Clio and Perplexity said they will share additional availability details and customer programs in the coming months.
