A local legal technology innovator is descending on Toronto Tech Week this month with a special event.
Lexiden this year presents at TTW its event “Bridge the Gap, building smarter legal tools,” which the legaltech upstart describes as a one-day competitive hackathon where developers, law students, and lawyers can team up to build tools for the sector.
A featured panel will bring together Sam Presvelos, founder of Lexiden, alongside Cassels Brock & Blackwell partner Omar Soliman and Connor MacDonald, founder of Clearview Counsel, to highlight first-hand experience using AI tools to enhance legal practices.
The top two teams at the Lexiden Legal Tech Hack will take home a $2,000 cash prize, according to Presvelos.
All hackers will be supported by organic energy drinks and matcha from Drink Juice Co. as well as a pizza dinner and social mixer to close out the evening.
The hackathon is slated to run from 11am through 6:30pm on May 28 at 18 King St E in Toronto.
Earlier in the week is a “Legal Tech Show & Tell,” which will feature five-minute “Lightning” Demos.
The peer-to-peer “Show & Tell” is designed specifically for legal practitioners who have something to share and are looking to learn.
In the same vein as SF and NYC counterparts, Toronto Tech Week launched in 2025 as decentralized platform to help showcase technology and innovation throughout the city.
