Clio has announced that Ethan Mollick, one of the world’s leading voices on artificial intelligence and its impact on work, will headline ClioCon 2026 as a keynote speaker.
Mollick, the Ralph J. Roberts Distinguished Faculty Scholar and Associate Professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, is widely recognized for his research on how AI is reshaping work, entrepreneurship, and education. Named one of TIME Magazine’s Most Influential People in Artificial Intelligence, he has built a reputation for translating complex AI concepts into practical, real-world guidance for professionals navigating rapid technological change.
His inclusion in this year’s lineup reflects the growing urgency within the legal sector to move beyond theoretical discussions of AI and toward meaningful adoption.
“Ethan Mollick is one of the clearest and most credible voices helping professionals understand what AI actually means for their work,” said Reagan Attle, Chief Marketing Officer at Clio. “At a moment when the legal industry is facing enormous change, his perspective will help legal professionals move beyond curiosity or concern and start using AI with confidence and strategic intent.”
Mollick’s keynote, titled From Disruption to Opportunity: Embracing the AI Revolution, will focus on how professionals can thoughtfully integrate AI into their workflows to drive innovation and productivity. In a hands-on approach, he plans to use AI tools live onstage to demonstrate their practical impact on day-to-day work.
The session aligns with ClioCon 2026’s theme, Go Beyond Limits, which emphasizes the role of technology in expanding what legal professionals can achieve. Attendees are expected to leave with a clearer understanding of how AI can enhance their practice, alongside a shift in mindset—from viewing AI as a potential threat to recognizing it as a form of leverage.
Mollick’s broader work reinforces that perspective. As Co-Director of the Generative AI Labs at Wharton, he leads efforts to explore how AI can augment human capabilities while managing its risks. His widely read book Co-Intelligence—and upcoming follow-up Co-Existence, set for release this fall—argue that the most effective approach to AI is not resistance, but collaboration.
That message is increasingly resonating within the legal industry, where concerns around accuracy, trust, and professional responsibility remain front and centre. Rather than replacing expertise, Mollick contends, AI elevates the value of human judgment and domain knowledge.
ClioCon, long considered one of the legal industry’s most influential gatherings, continues to position itself at the intersection of legal practice and emerging technology. The 2026 event will feature a forward-looking agenda that includes tactical workshops, product demonstrations, and sessions led by legal operators, technologists, and industry leaders.
With Mollick’s keynote anchoring the program, the conference is set to push the conversation forward—from whether legal professionals should adopt AI, to how they can do so effectively and responsibly.
