NetDocuments has completed its acquisition of eDOCS from OpenText, expanding its global footprint while committing to ongoing support for the on-premises platform and a flexible path to modernization.
NetDocuments has completed its acquisition of eDOCS from OpenText, adding the full eDOCS product portfolio and team to its cloud-native legal document management platform.
The acquisition brings the global eDOCS customer base under the umbrella of NetDocuments, expanding the company’s reach to more than 90 countries and strengthening its position in secure, compliant document management for legal organizations worldwide. eDOCS was previously owned by OpenText.
As part of the transaction, NetDocuments will continue to support the on-premises eDOCS platform, with no end-of-life plans announced. Existing workflows, customer relationships, and partner engagements will be maintained, and long-time members of the eDOCS team have joined NetDocuments to ensure continuity of expertise and support.
NetDocuments said customers and partners can expect proactive outreach and ongoing engagement, including access to onboarding resources, FAQs, and upcoming welcome events. The company also emphasized its commitment to stability first, while offering customers a clear and optional path to modernization when they are ready.
For organizations seeking to upgrade now or in the future, NetDocuments plans to leverage its ownership of both platforms to provide purpose-built migration tools designed to preserve institutional knowledge and streamline the transition to modern document management.
