LawDroid Appoints David Gray to Lead Strategy and Growth

News Brief, January 8, 2026

Vancouver-based legaltech company LawDroid has appointed David Gray as Director of Business & Strategy, bolstering its leadership team as it scales AI-powered solutions for legal aid organizations, courts, and governments.

Gray brings more than 15 years of experience across business, communications, and innovation, including over seven years working directly in legal aid and access-to-justice initiatives. In his new role, he will lead strategic planning, manage key initiatives, and build partnerships to expand LawDroid’s reach.

LawDroid develops AI-powered tools that help legal organizations automate legal information delivery, guide users through legal processes, and serve more people with limited resources.

“I’m thrilled to welcome David aboard,” said Tom Martin, founder and CEO of LawDroid. “For the last decade, LawDroid has focused on making justice more accessible. David will be invaluable as we scale our technology and partnerships to meet growing demand.”

Gray’s appointment comes as legal aid systems face mounting pressure. According to the Legal Services Corporation Justice Gap Report, 92% of low-income Americans do not receive adequate legal help for civil legal problems, with funding for civil legal aid remaining uncertain. While the data is U.S.-focused, similar access-to-justice challenges persist in Canada, where demand continues to outpace available resources.

“As the access-to-justice crisis grows, we need new ways to serve more people with fewer resources,” Gray said. “LawDroid has the tools to help guide people from legal problems to actionable solutions.”

Prior to joining LawDroid, Gray served as business innovation manager at Bay Area Legal Services, where he led multi-year innovation projects and grants. He also co-founded FosterPower and created A2J Jobs, a free access-to-justice job board later acquired by LSNTAP. Gray currently serves on the American Bar Association Commission on Youth and Family Justice.
